Selfish

It's true.  I buy cute artwork and sentimental cards such as this for me.  I don't think Ryan really cares too much about cute prints from Etsy.  Anyway, babes I do love you. Thank you for letting me clutter the house with things that make me happy.

Martha Marcy May Marlene

Every time I hear Simon Miraudo mention this movie on RTR I add it to the little bucket list in mind.  I needed a Sunday on the couch after a crazy 8 days in Hong Kong with my macbook (okay Ryan's macbook) in my lap.  Curdled up with chocolate and protected by my doona I went through varying stages of being enthralled, terrified and just plain disturbed.  Simon is right, the final shot lingers in mind. Yuck.  Amazing! Watch it!

burgers to your door

I absolutely love working at Thermomix in Australia's Head Office.  My only gripe is that when our talented recipe development team isn't conjuring up deliciousness in the kitchen or when I have been too busy to be prepared, lunch offerings in Balcatta are less than lack lustre.  So I made a call to my good friends at Jus Burgers who made the trek with burgers in tow.  One happy office!

MOMOFUKU SEIOBO lucky peaches

Momofuku sounds like a naughty play on words but in Japanese it means "lucky peach".  It also happens to be the first name of the gent who invented instant ramen.  If you have ever been able to secure a booking at Momofuku then well aren't you a lucky peach.  Their "I don't care who you are" philosophy means that they only take bookings ten days in advance.   We snagged a booking for four for lunch on 9 November 2012.

latest obsession

Raw, check.  Handmade, check.  Organic, check.  Delicious, CHECK.  Since Miss Gluten Free joined our team our office has become a trove of gluten free, organic and locally produced wonders.  Each week she returns from Absolutely Organic with offers such as Pana Chocolate.  Honestly, the first 'healthy' chocolate I have tried that actually tastes bloody amazing!

Mrs S.

My love affair with Mrs S. continues. Welcoming and consistently delicious, you could even say faultless.  As we roll into Autumn, rich and warming dishes pop up on menus.  I tucked into a new Autumn offering of twice-baked mushroom soufflΓ©, parmesan cream, watercress and walnut vinaigrette.

Even with the boys tucking into Big Breakfasts, we could not break the ritual of sharing a Croque Monsieur.

eat art truck

I would follow this bad boy around the streets of Sydney.  I wish I did.  There is nothing like comparing Eat Art Truck tales with foodie friends.  My adventure was one at Carriageworks, an amazing art space managed by wonderful friend.  β€‹

perfect quote for a perfect friend

It was a friendship at first sight.  I was year two, she was year three.  Blue skirts, red polos, white sandals both with fringes.  β€‹It is pretty damn amazing to have someone in your life so long.   Years on, with better styled fringes and definitely without those 90s sandals, we are both heading into the same direction.  Cruising, then scrambling, running and rushing.  I hope to think that we are both now slowing to smell the roses. Together.

I think you are cute

Kawa is one of those hidden gems that are hard to stumble upon.   Luckily I had a little insider information from the finley threaded beauty behind Joveeba.  Nestled by shady trees on Crown Street in Surry Hills, it is the perfect spot to start a day in Sydney.

We sat on the footpath people watching.  The day unfolding in the comforting aromas of cheesy toast and coffee.   Offering the usual breakfast staples with that homemade touch, it felt you stopped by a loved one's for humble eats.   So quaint, so cute.
