Some nights there is nothing better than ordering pub grub.
beautiful noise
My friend Nai's heart beats in song. Music transcends her to that happy place. You can see this in her eyes and it's confirmed in her words. Happy birthday my beautiful friend.
Crust
I must be growing up (old). Rather than partying on through the night after Creamfields I opted for a post festival Saturday night in with pizza, red wine and a movie. I stopped off at Crust Mt Lawley owned by my lovely friend Foodie Cravings and her burgerboy. I ordered the Supreme and Pesto Chicken ahead and fought every demon to not open the box before I got home. I always start with just one slice of each, before I know it I am three slices in, then its bed time and we have eaten every morsel and swear to eat salad tomorrow. This is a perfect Saturday night.
Creamfields
Five Bar
As the days get cooler and the rain starts to fall, spicier beers are a little more seductive. My bf had a hankering for Innis & Gunn rum cask that we had tried at the Around the World beer tasting last year. It went so well with the Reuben Sandwich and Steak Tartare.
I found the spider chart on the Innis & Gunn website.
Mrs S
Nothing screams EAT ME like absolutely everything on the counter at Mrs S. It is always full of gorgeous delights. No time to enjoy breakfast so I said a quick hello to Mrs S and Nai then grabbed a yummy savoury muffin to scoff in the car. I am always a sucker for arriving with a gift so I bought my friend Maddy this minx of a mudcake below.
Tak Chee
When you ask chicken rice? and two of your favourite foodie friends say TAK CHEE. It wasn't really a suggestion ... more like an order! We ordered Hainanese Chicken Rice and Penang Kway Teow. The chicken was oh so tender and derrishhh. I did wake up a little thirsty. Damn you Asian flavour enhancers!
Bonnie Lassie
Oh gosh. I just love Bonnie's illustrations. I was so chuffed that she whipped up a gorgeous little thank you sticker for our Autumn Roving Dinner gift bags. Thank you Bonnie! You are just a GEM, a very very talented gem xx

Oh I love this little coffee shop in Leederville! Maybe it is because my friend Terri works there and I get to see her little face or maybe it's the relaxed kitschy vintage feel and gorgeous little desserts and abundant tea choice. Who cares. Just visit. If this place had wifi I would never ever leave.
plant me
The boys at Zambrero's treated our Roving Dinner guests to some pretty mean chilli seeds for our little gift bags.

Snags & Sons
In a city devoid of a good sausage shop along comes Snags & Sons. Justin Bell of Jus Burgers fame saw the gap and crammed it with this deli-style gem in Leederville. Always one to champion local produce, Justin has ensured that the tastiest snags around Perth are finally getting a nudge and devotion. What's not to love about the humble hot dog when it's made to taste this good. We went early Sunday evening to find a little line creeping down the street. Taking our seats at the high bar style tables we studied the menu for far too long. The hot dogs were simple yet tasty and I am always happy to get change from ten bucks. A great place to pop in for a cheap and cheerful catch up or bite before a movie at Luna.
Amelia Park beef snag BEEF BOEREWORS South African peach chutney, smoked Dutch cheese & baguette Mount Barker chicken snag RED CURRY SAUSAGE tamarind chutney, Asian salad, chilli in wrap Chittering Valley venison Snag VENISON horseradish cream, beetroot, apple & ginger jam & baguette
The red curry sausage was definitely the winner on the taste scale. My venison was a little on the dry side but was singing with a balance of flavours. Relish always works with game meat. I don't think I have found my favourite yet though so I will keep going back until I do.
ihart
Last November saw the ihart exhibition take over the Claremont Hotel and Grey Door raising funds for The Heart Foundation. This initiative is the brainchild of Xpress Magazines Art Director, Dwight O'Neil and Michael Prendiville. ihart soon became a labour of love and it was held with huge success. This year ihart has it's sights set high to help one special child from the Starlight Foundation make his/her dream come true! Ihart is currently seeking submissions of A2 prints from artists, designers, sculptors, painters, photographers and creatives. There are also secret mediums for secret artists so if you want to know more hit the boys up at ihartproject.com
All proceeds from the sale of all art will be donated to the Starlight Foundation.
